I think this Joseph Double is possibly the one married to Sarah King - born in Raydon, Suffolk in 1809.

I have a copy of the Wellington Independant 'Ann Wilson' passenger list as my Hooper family arrived on this vessel also. Sophia Hooper is thought to have died on board also as she is listed as a passenger but was never mentioned in NZ at all and it is presumed the little 6 year old died on board.

The names W. Sarah, A. George, & James Field are listed on the passenger list in this newspaper article.

No ages given in this list unfortunalety and no deaths mentioned except the article beside which mentions the inquest into Jonaton Deverell's [Devorill sic] death.

I am trying to compose a list of names of those who perished on the 'Ann Wilson' so it was interesting to note William Field as one of those who lost their lives aboard her.

Worcestershire / Re: help please!! Bloomer family netherton.
« on: Monday 17 May 10 00:33 BST (UK)  »
Hi,
Matthew Bloomer's sister, Ruth b. abt 1848 married Richard Moore. I do not know who Richard's father was, as yet but his mother was Martha. In the 1851 census martha was nowed married to Eli Deeley (my husband's Deeley family) and Richard Moore and his sister Emma can be found in the home. Martha then married Noah Pearsall in 1859 following Eli's death in 1858. Richard Moore and his wife Ruth (nee Bloomer) are living next to Noah Persal [sic] and martha in the 1871 census in Kingswinford, Staffordshire.

Ruth's father is given ad Hezikiah Bloomer b. abt 1827 Quarry Bank and Ann (do not know surname yet) b. Netherton abt 1827.

There is yet another Bloomer connection due to a Elizabeth Bloomer (I think daughter of Benjamin & Pheobe Bloomer) who married widower George deeley in 1849 in Stourbridge reg district. I have yet to follow up on george Deeley's connection to my husbands Deeley family or Benjamin's Bloomer family but it may interest other researchers to know of this connection. Has anyone come across Elizabeth Bllomer b. abt 1821 and George deeley b. abt 1813?

Can anyone tell me who the parents (siblings) of Mary Stoodley (born abt 1775/80) might be? Mary married John Churchill (son of William & Frances Churchill) on the 6th November 1797 in Wayford, Crewkerne. They had three known children: Frances 1798, Catherine 1801 & Mary 1805. Names connected witht his family are: Stoodley, Barratt, Baker, Caddy, Locke, Churchill, Forsey to name a few.

Any help greatly appreciated - Regards Joanne

Think this is yprobably the Jane Barnes married to Josiah Barnes  (you mention) in the 1841 Census in Hinkley:
Josia Barnes 52 Stocking Maker not born in county
Jane Barnes 52 born in county
Jane Barnes 18 born in county
Betsy Barnes 13 born in county
Josia Barnes 16 born in county
(NOTE: Josiah lives only a few doors from Samuel Barnes - also not born in the county - and ages would fit with them being brothers)
1841 CENSUS:
Samuel barnes 56 Bricklayer not born in county
Mary (this is nee Hackett) 55 born in county
Sarah Barnes 9 born in county
(same house) Thomas Holt 53 Stocking Maker born in County
Elizabeth Holt 49 born in county
John Holt 16 born in county
Thomas Holt 14 born in county
Ann Holt 21 born in county
Elizabeth Holt born in county
Sarah Holt 12 born in county
Frances Holt 8 born in county
(NOTE: Elizabeth Holt 49 nee Hackett is in fact Mary Barnes nee Hackett's sister)

The 1851 census Hinckley:
Thomas Holt 24 (this is the son listed above)
Elizabeth Holt 17
John Holt 4 months
Frances Holt 17 sister
Mary Barnes 68 Aunt (this is the Mary Barnes nee Hackett wife of Samuel and sister to thomas Holt's mother Elizabeth Hackett)
Sarah Arnold 34 cousin

I shall list alittle more in the next census but I think your William is the son of William and Jane Barnes:

regards Joanne
