No connection as yet but they are a huge family and im sure we will find one. Mine are in Northampton, London and Olney. I felt sure i would get a link in Olney, but couldn't find it.
Looks like we shall have to think "outside the box".
Going back to the marriage certificate, who were the witnesses? Maybe you can find a sibling? Also did it state that he was "of this parish" or "outside of the parish"?
Have a look in the Parish records for other Wilmers' BMDs. You should be able to link the family that way.
Try baptism records, they would give you the mother's forename, then you can look for a marriage for the parents.
I have some parish records which i can look at later. Were they based in Rushden all of the time?

Thanks again Scropper.
They stayed in Hastings all their life though.
Ive just had a look but doesnt seem to be a way to find the parents of the child so although there are 4 children born around that time, i cant find their parents. One of them (Robert 1901) is yet another birth certificate i have ordered and am awaiting.
Is there a way of linking the parentson the site that i have missed?
Sorry to be a pain  :-[

Hi
Thankyou. I have garbled my message i think. (Not surprising with the history of this surname, im going mad here! :)
I know Arthur's parents are William and Sarah, i am trying to ascertain whether Arthur was their only child. I cannot find any siblings for Arthur.
Many thanks for looking up the marriage though and i am sorry to mislead.

Hi
My hubby's grandfather Arthur (1896) was the son of William Helsdown (1871) and Sarah (1874).
I cannot find any other births for this couple and im spending a fortune sending off for birth certs for possible siblings for Arthur!
They married in in 1895 in Hastings and lived in Hastings all their lives. Is there any online database where i can search or anyone who has access to a database and has the time to look for me?
I cannot get to Hastings myself or i would.
Kind regards
