United States of America / Re: Cornish tin miner in Michigan, US. Where to look?
« on: Monday 01 March 21 18:08 GMT (UK)  »
Going on a limb here.  I searched for the Columbia Hotel in the 1927 Cincinnati Directory and didn't immediately find it which I thought was odd.  So I dug a little deeper and found mention of Columbia Park which was established in 1925 by Columbia Power Gas & Electric.  They owned the Miami Fort Power Plant.  Apparently Columbia Park was built for the workers.  According to the article I saw they paid rent for accommodations including a clubhouse which had rooms to let.  I wonder if this might be also known as the Columbia Hotel??  If so the power plant was situated nearby and workers could walk to work.  I believe it was a partially coal fired plant.  A tenuous link to coal and mining.....  Just a guess on my part...... ???

Best wishes
Jean

If you look at the bottom of this page https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:3Q9M-CSGC-2S81-P?cc=2790465&personaUrl=%2Fark%3A%2F61903%2F1%3A1%3AQLPV-R9BB there is an entry for Anna Andersdotter b 25 Mar 1799 Nora.  This is the lady I was trying to make into my Anna Hansdotter b. 1798 Ramsberg.  This one was married in 1821 to Anders Anderson b 15 Jan 1791 Lindesberg and died 8 Sep 1867 but I have not seen these records yet.

I wanted to look for Anna Hansdotter after she left Ramsberg in 1820 but not sure how to find her.  Does the householder record in your previous posts say she went to Linde?

Thanks
Jean

Thanks Ian.  I am trying to process all the data you found.  Have to admit it doesn't seem to add up.

I could use some help reading the Birth record of Anders Jacobson in 1769.  I think I am getting Father Jacob Jacobsson and mother Catharina J????dotter.

I was also trying to make out the names of the witnesses to Gustaf's Birth record.  Just curious why he was on the householder record if he was no blood relation.  Could he have been working and just living with them as a place to lodge?

Thanks again
Jean

On second thought...look at this householder page that precedes the one posted above:  https://sok.riksarkivet.se/bildvisning/C0001175_00016#?c=&m=&s=&cv=15&xywh=30%2C1687%2C3310%2C1913  It looks like Anders Jacobsson listed at the bottom and Stina Persdotter is shown with her husband and what looks like Anna b 1798  and another child b. before Anna in Nora?  Maybe I am on the right track after all?

These are great.  I am fairly certain I have the correct birth for Anders b 1806 and it is obvious we are looking at the correct household and now you have added a correct birth for Anna and 2nd marriage of her mother.  I dont see how Nora as a birth place is going to fit into this and at the moment I cannot see a biological link between 1806 Anders and an Anna Andersdotter b abt 1799 Nora. Dna connects somehow so I guess it is back to digging other possibilities

Thanks for your help as always!

Thank you Ian for the confirmation on the images.  Can’t believe another Stina name! It looked like an H first letter to me!  So now I have to ask.  In the householder image is the first person listed under Anders and wife Stina......is that a daughter of Stina b in 1798??  Isn’t the marriage year for them 1805?  I am getting the sons Anders in 1806, Peter in 1807 and dying? in 1809, Peter in 1810, and Eric in 1812.  I need to dig deeper on these!

Thanks again
Jean

Still working on DNA connections in Ramsberg area of Sweden.

THis is a new query regarding the birth record of Anders Anderson found here:  https://sok.riksarkivet.se/bildvisning/C0001195_00016#?c=&m=&s=&cv=15&xywh=326%2C291%2C2450%2C1610 entry number 67.  Could someone please confirm the parents names and their location?  I am seeing Anders Jacobsson and ??? Persdotter.

I have found this householder record that I think is them: https://sok.riksarkivet.se/bildvisning/C0001176_00248#?c=&m=&s=&cv=247&xywh=430%2C757%2C2153%2C1414 but I would love to have this confirmed.  I am trying to prove that the Anders in the birth record had a sister or half sister? named Anna or possibly Anna Greta born about 1799 supposedly in Nora but maybe in Lindesberg?

I have traced backward to get to Anna Andersdotter b 1799 Nora and found her married to an Anders Anderson and living in Wedevågs Fiskartorp and family Johanna b 1831, Lovisa b 1833, Erik b 1838, Carolina b 1842, Per b 1824, and Anna Christina b 1829 and also a son Anders b 11 Oct 1822 who was married to Lovisa Jansdotter.

Just trying to figure out what the DNA is saying is possible!

Thanks for the assistance!

How about the birth of Peter Påfvelsson #41?  I am not seeing a mother named in there either but could be way wrong!  https://sok.riksarkivet.se/bildvisning/C0026732_00072#?c=&m=&s=&cv=71&xywh=2414%2C-140%2C4788%2C2755

Did you get Anna Marie's name from a household book?

Yup this one

I haven't encountered the women not having a last name recorded.  That makes more of a challenge!

Thanks for the 1805!
