Wiltshire Completed Lookup Requests / Re: Hannington/Highworth Burials - POUND

Thanks Frances.  I've found some memorial inscriptions and found that burial.  The inscription said he was 50, so that's really helped me.

Wiltshire Completed Lookup Requests / COMPLETED: Hannington/Highworth Burials - POUND
« on: Monday 01 September 08 11:33 BST (UK)  »
If anyone has access to records for burials in Hannington or Highworth, I'd be immensely grateful if you could look up burial details for an Elijah Pound who I think died in c.1785 and William Pound who I think died in 1798.

What I'd really like to know is how old they were when they died, if it says, because this will help me determine their date or birth.

Many thanks,
Vicky

The people I'm specifically interested in are:

James (b1803) and John Holsgrow (b1805), sons of James Clarke Holsgrow and Ann Stoneman

and

James Clark Holsgrow (b1801) son of William and Mary Holsgrow.

Could the two fathers, be brothers?  Where does the middle name Clark come from - is it someone's maiden name that's been handed down? And crucially did the first family I mention here, drop the Holsgrow from their name and call themselves Clark - baptism records for later children seem to indicate this?

I'm descended from one of Priscilla's brother Joseph.  Their parents were William Parker and Elizabeth Groves.

Your post was from a long time ago, but if you still need information about them, then please get in touch.

Am looking for information about the Holsgrow family from Crediton.  If anyone is connected to them I'd be pleased to hear from you.

I have a Mary Painter born approx.1772 in Hannington and married to a William Pound my greatx5 grandfather in Hannington in 1795.

Is she a connection to your Painter family?  If so, I'd love to hear from you and know more about the Painter family.
