Gloucestershire / Re: White Hart Inn Moretin in Marsh??

Yes, thank you for your reply. I had looked at those photos and thought the same, but wanted to rule out the idea of there being another doorway/side of the inn that was built differently.

Sorry, the first photo was not the one I meant to send. This is the one. It is blurry, but is the best of the bunch in showing the building.

Gloucestershire / White Hart Inn Moretin in Marsh??
« on: Wednesday 25 April 12 22:48 BST (UK)  »
I was wondering if anyone would be able to tell if this photo from the early 1930's was taken outside the White Hart Inn in Moreton in Marsh. The second photo is from the same day/week, but it does not look to me like the photos I can find of St David's. This family often spent holidays at the White Hart Inn, so that is why it is my first guess. Thank you for any help that you can give

England / Re: Wills ordered at First Avenue House

Thank you for quick answers. It's a bit of a relief as I did not want to start the "where are they" process. A phone call is very expensive from here and writing a letter with all the specifics seems a bit more then my jet-lagged brain is up to at the moment.

England / Wills ordered at First Avenue House
« on: Thursday 30 September 10 22:25 BST (UK)  »
On 6 September I went to the Probate Office at First Avenue House and ordered five wills to be delivered to me in the US. I've just returned home expecting the wills to be here, but they are not. Should I be concerned about this or does the process take this long with the mail option?

Worcestershire Lookup Requests / Re: Help - birthplace Malvern, which parish?

I couldn't find any children listed for Joseph Morgan and Mary Ann on the IGI. I also did a cursory check on the 1841 census, nothing meaningful (that I could find) either. I am sure you did all these things, too, but sometimes another pair of eyes are helpful. Someone else mentioned looking at the Herefordshire records. That is where my Morgan's were in the early 19th century and perhaps yours as well. Good luck!

It is John Morgan's birth c1820 I really need to find.  He gives his father's name as Joseph on his marriage certificate (1846).  I don't have his mother's name.  I suppose if I could find a marriage for a Joseph Morgan 20 - 40 years before John's birth this might help (1780 - 1820).

This thread caught my eye as I am interested in finding the baptismal record for a Alice Lewis Morgan born 1879 in Malvern Wells. Looking on the IGI, I found a Joseph Morgan marrying a Mary Ann Wray, 8 August 1814 at St Mary's St Malvern.

Buckinghamshire / Re: Barker's Farm near Amersham

Thank you for your help Dinie. A newly found distant cousin has been in touch with a thatcher and he/she thinks that this building style may be from East Anglia. As my husband's great grandparents came from Suffolk/Essex, perhaps the "Your grandmother's farm" written on the back of the photo was referring to my husband's great grandmother rather then my husband's grandmother.

Here is the house with Miss or Mrs Richardson, my husband and puppy. I also have photos after these in the album that look like they were from the same roll taken at a farm. Might there have been a  farm on the property as well?
