Dw i wedi darllen llawer o bapurau Darrell Wallcott ac dw i’n meddwl bod ei ddadleuon yn gwneud llawer o synnwyr. Gaeth arfbeisiau ddim eu creu tan lawer yn ddiweddarach felly ella bod rhai teuluoedd wedi gwneud camgymeriadau! Mi oedd Syr John Wynn yn meddwl ei fod yn ddisgynnydd i Owain Gwynedd, ond naeth Darrell Wallcott awgrymu ei fod yn ddigynnydd i Cadwgan ap Bleddyn.  Diddorol iawn.  Ond yn anffodus dim papurau am Dafydd ap Gruffudd!

Thanks so much for checking.  Yes I have Achau and Griffith’s Pedigrees.  Dafydd is on table 1 of TGC, and Ieuan ap Morus is on the Methlan page of Pedigrees, but I can’t find any links between them. Annoying as Dafydd and Elin are definitely my ancestors and were very rich for the period and their children were well educated so definitely came from gentry stock. Our family farm is close to Methlan so it would be great if Dafydd’s family came from there and he was a descendant of Collwyn ap Tango through Meirion Goch. Ieuan did have a son called Gruffydd ap Ieuan/Griffith Morris who married Mary Wynn but Dafydd is not listed as a child in the pedigrees. He could have been a child of an earlier marriage, or more likely was illegitimate, if there is a Methlan connection.  I would love to find out who first made the link on Ancestry and why.  By the way I am related to Collwyn ap Tango through Daffydd ap Gruffudd’s great grandson's wife.  She was a descendant of Meirion Goch’s brother Gwgan.  Does your user name mean you are a descendant?
