Other Countries / Steven Family
« on: Wednesday 18 February 26 19:56 GMT (UK)  »
Hi, just a quick introduction, I’m James Steven. I started researching the Steven family for the last 3 years. I’m aware of one family member, her relation to me stems from my father and her father both twins. She has since travelled over here to visit. My GF was Williams twin brother. With the brother’s involvement in WW2 and  Thomas in WW1 I’ve managed to gather info on them. I struggled to find anything on the two great aunts, Frances and Isabel.
I’ve researched Mcdowall Steven & Co.

To date both Grand parents deceased 1991 & 2015. My fathers brother passed not to long ago as well.

Thank you gents, appreciate all the info.
Decided to complete a family tree and biography for each person. My father immigrated to Australia back in the 60s. Went home twice to visit his parents.

I’ve asked him on a few occasions about his family but he vaguely remembers much. So this will be a dream for him.

Thanks, I’ll have a look. I’ve got his war gratuity document but can’t make out the place of death. Handwritten can’t read the cursive writing.

Hi, currently searching on information on my great uncle Thomas Godfrey Steven to piece together his whereabouts in WW1.

Killed in action 12 August 1916, age 21.
That would put him at the battle of Somme but unknown to which specific operation at the time.

12 Battalion, Highland light infantry.

Name located at Thiepval commemoration for the missing.

Hi,

I'm currently researching the Steven family. I came across this site after searching for William Alexander Ure Steven. He is my great-uncle, my Grandfather was his twin brother.

I was also looking for his wife's details or whereabouts. It would be great to talk and learn more about the family's relations. As I live in Australia, I currently know of one cousin who visits from the UK.
