I'm also late to the party, but have been trying to fill in gaps in our Lewis family tree. James Blount Lewis (1794-1873) was a hosier in Tewkesbury originally, and his sons moved the business to Nottingham. James Blount's parents were James Lewis (b. 1770) and Elizabeth Blount (d. 1823).
I am wondering if Elizabeth was part of the Belper Hosiery family, as the name and type of business seems a coincidence. JB Lewis established Meridian Ltd in 1815 and eventually sold to Courtaulds in 1960s. Thanks!
