I looked at his death cert on the GRO Death Index and it was issued by the Coroner - a Mr Barker? from the Lancashire Inquest held on 16 April 1883 but you probably already have this info

Kay

Thanks Kay. Yes, I do have Richard's death certificate and it did take me by surprise seeing his cause of death. At some point I will look at obtaining any reports available  for the inquest although I don't know if this is possible.

In regards to Grace. In your experience, and with so much corroborating information confirming this is the right Grace, can you effectively disregard her age of 46, given she was born in 1840 and died in 1890? Perhaps children may have not known the exact year of birth or age of their parents?

Many thanks

Graham

Found a death in 1890 on the GRO Death Index.  Was her husband Richard?

Grace Williams Age 46 3 Nov 1890 20 Layland Steet ,West Derby - Widow of Richard Williams Railway Breakman. She died of Addisons Decease Phthisis.   Daughter Emily Williams present at death

Kay

The 1882 baptism of George has father as Richard, Railway guard.
Its very likely that you have the right Grace.
Well done.

Thanks very much Wilcoxon. I've tried so hard to try and research on my own but with Grace, I have totally confused myself and was at my wits end. I thought it time to sign up to Rootschat and seek the help of experts.
Graham O. Welcome to Rootschat,

Thanks wilcoxon.   I can't see a death for a Richard Williams in Warrington in 1885  :-\

Added - He died in 1883 - run over by railway wagons poor soul

Thanks Kay. I've just checked my records and I do have Richard dying in 1883 and not 1885. At some point I hope to see if I can find the Coroner's inquest report.

Wow! Thank you so much. You are an absolute diamond. This definitely is Grace, who I have been searching for. This is truly the difference between an expert and an amateur still learning. In hindsight, I think I was so bamboozled with so many Grace Williams and over complicated things.

Grace was the only 2nd Great Grandparent I had not completely accounted for and this is such a relief .

Once again, thank you very much  :)

Hi. I really hope someone can help. For years I have been trying to find my 2nd Great Grandmother, Grace Williams (nee Lloyd), in the 1891 census for Warrington. Grace was born in 1940 in Liverpool.

Her last known addresses in Warrington were:
1881 - Census: 53 Howard Street, Warrington
1882 - Son's baptism record: 32 Leicester Street, Warrington
1885 - Husband's death certificate: 25 Leicester Street, Warrington

Also living with Grace are potentialy her children George (b.1882), Mary Ellen (b.1878), Elizabeth Ann (b.1876) and Margaret Amanda (b.1873).

I hope I have provided the appropriate information in the correct manner. I would be so grateful if anyone could help. Thank you.
