Coote Geelan did not come to Australia but five of his sons did, including Christopher James Geelan in 1888. The Gillan, Geelan Genealogy by Welland and Mary Gillan 1970 has information about Coote's parents, John and Mary Gillan. Information about John's parents, Robert and Jane (Johnson) is scant and possibly impossible to verify.
