Absolutely 👍 let’s add your grandad Shadrach Meshach (“Micky”) Greig into the draft so others on RootsChat see the full picture.

Here’s the revised version:

Subject: Help tracing Greig & Boswell family (Glasgow / Aberdeen links)

Hello,

I’m researching my family tree and hoping someone with knowledge of the Greig and Boswell families might be able to help fill some gaps.
   •   My ancestor Meshach Greig was born 3 March 1891 at 49 Burnside Street, Glasgow.
   •   His parents were Robert Henry Greig, Iron Turner, and Ada Boswell.
   •   They married in 1883 at St Nicholas, Aberdeen.
   •   Ada Boswell’s parents were William Boswell (hawker) and Rebecca Jackson.
   •   I have also come across references to other Boswells in Glasgow and Hamilton (including an Oliver Boswell with children), and I’m wondering if/how these branches connect.
   •   My Greigs later lived around Burnside Street, Possilpark / Ashgill Street, Glasgow and were connected by marriage to the McAllister family.
   •   My grandfather Shadrach Meshach (“Micky”) Greig was born 1921 in Glasgow, son of Meshach Greig and Sarah McAllister. He later married Janet (Jenny) Gallacher in 1941 at Possilpark, Glasgow.

I’d be especially interested if anyone has:
   •   Information on siblings of Meshach Greig (b. 1891), or of his mother Ada Boswell.
   •   Any evidence of Boswell / Greig connections in Aberdeen or Glasgow in the late 1800s.
   •   Knowledge of nicknames like “Zuby” Greig or similar in Boswell/Greig families.

Many thanks in advance — any leads or shared knowledge would be greatly appreciated!
