Stirlingshire / Re: Elvis an Old Stirling worthy (pic)
« on: Sunday 06 July 25 00:30 BST (UK)  »
Hi i just came across this thread  it may be a few years late but i remember growing up in stirling and seeing Elvis regularly, long trench style army overcoat tied with string in the middle, wellington boots usually turned down at the top long hair and bushy beard..He was usually seen around the Stirling bus station area or thistle street area where the thistle centre is now. I lived and grew up  near   care home in the mid 80's in my teens.Elvis  ended up as a resident of  Laurencecroft care home I remember seeing him passing  regularly where i stayed at the time clean shaven hair in a well kept short side shed and always well dressed in his suit and polished shoes and he always walked  proud with a contented  smile on his face.i will always remember the day i was told who this man was i was shocked and in disbelief that proud dark featured man with the sharp chiselled jaw line was indeed Elvis. In my early teens i realised never judge a book by its cover as what lies beneath can be completely different.
