Hi
As far as I can make out Hugo Flinn c1785 was married to Susannah c1790.  They had two sons named John and Daniel (possibly also a daughter who remained in Ireland).  John (c 1831-1885) married a Bridget O'Hare c1829-1904 and Daniel married Alice Bannon (known as Ally).  Their children included Daniel jnr, Hugh, Alice, Ellen or Eleanor and Sarah.   Alice was my great grandmother.  Daniel jnr among other things became a fish merchant and was responsible for reviving the Manx kipper industry (see Ramsey Courier 12.5.1899) and was also Mayor of Douglas Corporation as well as being an alderman for many years.  Hugh became a ship owner and lived in Liverpool.   I do have the family tree on Ancestry, so a search for Daniel Flinn b 1848 should enable you find it.   If you don't have access, then post an email address and I'll contact you with more details, photos of headstones, etc.

Hi Trudie,

I just discovered this post and we might be relatives! I believe the ship owner Hugh you mention at the end here is my great-great grandfather. I know my great-grandfather Hugo was born in the Isle of Man in 1879 and his father Hugh was a fish merchant between Ireland and Liverpool. Would you be able to email the family tree to me at dbflinn [at] gmail [dot] com? If you see this message, would really appreciate it. Keen to learn more and help if I can!

All the best,
Barry
