Do you know that your Francis was definitely born in tibshelf?
There's a Francis Bingham baptised 3 Feb 1735 in Tibshelf. Jonathan Bingham and Elizabeth parents.

Tibshelf PR's are on Ancestry but the only Franc(I/E)s Bingham around that time was a girl

Very much a long shot, but could it actually be Costock, which is in Nottinghamshire but only about 2-miles from the Leicestershire border?
I think birthplaces on the census can be a matter of potluck sometimes as it so much depended on the writing of the enumerator and the speech/accent and knowledge of the person who gave them the information

They have very inventive ways of spelling that. My ancestors appear to work on the land for the most part, so I guess reading and writing was not high on the list of important things to do.
