Bit late to this thread but I'm new here.  :)

William is my 2nd Great-grandfather and both he and Ann are buried separately in Ruskington Sleaford Road Cemetery.  Neither of them have gravestones.

Derbyshire Lookup Requests / St John, Tibshelf - Bingham

I'm trying to confirm the parents of Francis Bingham born about 1734 I believe in Tibshelf.  I can't finf any Baptism records for Francis or any siblings.  I'm pretty sure Francis Bingham born 1711 in Tibshelf is the father but his mother is unknown.

All marriages above on FreeREG

Trish :)

I do love FreeReg, such a brilliant tool.  Thanks for this, I think Jonathan is definitely a strong candidate for the father of Elizabeth.

Very much a long shot, but could it actually be Costock, which is in Nottinghamshire but only about 2-miles from the Leicestershire border?

Thanks, this is definitely a possibility.  I'll explore these two possible parents.

I think birthplaces on the census can be a matter of potluck sometimes as it so much depended on the writing of the enumerator and the speech/accent and knowledge of the person who gave them the information  :-\

Kay

I'm finding that with surnames, likes Ainger.  :o They have very inventive ways of spelling that.  My ancestors appear to work on the land for the most part, so I guess reading and writing was not high on the list of important things to do.

Sadly there is a burial of an Elizabeth King with parents Francis and Ann at Coston on 7 Jun 1789

Thank you for the speedy reply.  I'd noticed the different birth places, I think I'd assumed the later census was more accurate.  I know, never assume.  I'm new at this  ;D

This is a pity, as the baptism fitted perfectly.

I'm trying to find the parents of the Elizabeth King, my 3rd great-grandmother. She was married to William Ainger in 1813 at Castle Bytham, Lincolnshire.  The 1861 census states she was born about 1790 in Croxton.

TIA,
Richard
