Isle of Man / children of john henry gill
« on: Sunday 25 March 12 11:42 BST (UK)  »
I've had such a lot of help from K Garrad ans Frances who have given me the names and DOB of the children of John Henry Gill and Agnes Holmes. All except one son who I know existed. His name was William John Gill  (known as Jack) and was born in Douglas IOM 1920. He was my son-in-laws Dad.
I'm wondering if I'm on the right trail as my son--in-law remembers his Dad mentioning three of his siblings who were Gertrude, Roy and William Henry( who apparently died in the war.)
I'm not sure what to do now as I have searched abd searched and come up with what I've already been given.

London & Middlesex Lookup Requests / Re: marriage
« on: Sunday 30 January 11 07:37 GMT (UK)  »
Hi Dawn,
Thank you for the info. I've looked again at the 1871 census and can't find Eliza Head. My friend (who I'm trying to help with her tree) tells me that Eliza was indeed a servant and rumour has it that she fell pregnant by a family member but they did in fact marry!!! Her son Frederick George Hilton was the son of that relationship. I am stuck now and don't know where to look next.
Thank you for giving the name of Henry Heads' wife, and their marriage.
Regarding the year of birth of Frederick George Hilton, my friend got that info from another ancestry member.
Thanks for your help.

Hi,

Thank you for your reply and sorry about my mistake.
Yes I am looking for the Head/ Hilton marriage but haven't had any luck.
Eliza is on the1861 census aged abt 11yrs. She was born Kentish Town and lived in St Pancras. She is also on the 1871 census aged abt 20 yrs, She was a servant and lived 13 Pawes Street. Her second marriage was  to George Bright and she is a widow and he a widower, she was aged 30 and he 47. Perhaps she didn't actually marry the first time!
