Thanks yes I’m aware of the illegitimate child document and also the inquest (i have the death certificate) i tried to find details on the inquest in Derby but all records were lost and i did find it odd! Also there’s rumours of Freemasons. I have the newspaper article also. Very illusive.

James A Hood brother of Bernard Pearson Hood had a son, Joseph Arundel Hood 1905 born Ilkeston Derby. So yet another using the Arundel middle name.

Gosh so much information, there’s so many entwined families. I’m getting confused with having so much information and my family tree in ancestry is bursting. How do you know if a person is the right one when there’s little information and yet so many in same areas with same names ? I think I’ve a few wrong on my tree but it’s getting so difficult? I’ve been doing this in and off for years (I took over after my grandfather passed, there’s so much I wished I’d asked him and my Grandmother! Without them the I’m struggling!)

Not that I know of? I’m not sure where the Pearson came from ?  My great grandmother Bertha Brooks (daughter of Bernard Pearson Hood) also had another child in between Joyce and Jean. A little boy named Gregory Bernard Brooks. ( he died a few months old) just for info middle name after her father. Seems a tradition using first/second or maiden names as middle names.

I can confirm Bernard Pearson Hood as I have his birth and death certs.
