Thank you so much for this!
I am on the hunt and will update here should I find anything of note.

I do NOT think he is Matthew Meads son, although I am leaving open the possibility that he was disowned and came to America as an indentured servant, I just don't find this probable, particularly because his sister in this scenario is in NE.

Hi all.
Having trouble figuring out which ancestor is mine.
I think its a WILLIAM MEAD that came to America in the late 1600s, but I'm not sure which one.
Does anyone have any insight?
The family settled in the Virginia area but possibly started in PA with/around the time Penn's quakers came over (they MAY have been quakers) or Maryland.

I THINK it might be possible the first Mead from my line came over as a convict from Monmouths rebellion or as an indentured servant possible under a merchant from London, named John Smith.

Does this sound familiar to anyone?

Would very much appreciate any help or willingness to collaborate.

ThanksĄ

Hi Vance!
is this thread still active?
I am researching my family, and am stuck on which WILLIAM MEAD I came from.
Do you have any insight on which family branch had a William that came to the colonies in the late 1600s?
