@ Rockford

I will try to have the library staff look at the index for me first, but I appreciate the offer of your help. I have emailed info @ glasgowlife.org.uk and libraries @ glasgowlife.org.uk but haven't had a response.  Just today I filled out the the freedom of information enquiry form on the GlasgowLife website in case that would speed up my request.  If you know of a better way I could contact a staff member please let me know (a more direct email for instance), I would appreciate it.  Otherwise, I'll try to be patient.

Thanks again for the help.

@Rockford,  Yes sorry, that was definitely a typo.  The Mother was born c. 1849.

Thank you @Forfarian for the confirmation

Lanarkshire / Glasgow Poor Law records c.1870-1890

I am looking to search Glasgow Poor Law records for a single mother born c.1949 that I expect may be found within poor relief applications.  Her daughter might also be in Separate children registers or Boarded-out children registers as she was orphaned in 1881.  From what I can tell the only records that exist for these are in the Mitchell Library.  I cant even locate an index online for any of these records.
I am in Canada and cannot access this library or records myself.  If anyone knows of any online recourse of an index or digital images for Glasgow poor law records I can search please let me know.  I emailed the library about having the staff search the records but have not heard back. Can anyone tell me if there are there volunteers located in Glasgow that would be willing to take a look while they are in the library? I can provide details of the persons of interest.
