Thanks for the advice, funnily enough there are a few Royal photos included in the Album including Edward VII and his wife before they were King and Queen, plus 3 of Queen Victoria's daughters- although none of Victoria herself. I can identify around 50% of the album but the rest are a mystery. The ages of the sitters don't seem to match anyone on my tree and perhaps they are friends as suggested. Thanks again.

Thanks, they must be important but it's a puzzle who they are in relation to the family. Appreciate the help.

This shows the photos in the album, any help greatly appreciated. I thought the child bottom right was a boy but looking at the clothes, I am not so sure...

Hi,

I am looking to date the photos from a page in a Victorian photo album I have acquired that belonged to my family. I don't know who the sitters are but I'm hoping to perhaps work that out in time. I wonder if these are a family group as they are on the page together- a mother and two children. Any help would be much appreciated.

Have a lovely weekend,

Dan

Hello,

I have been given a family Victorian photo album and I'm slowly working to identify the people in it. These 3 photos are on the first page suggesting they are important but they are not the owners of the album or their children. I am looking to see if they can be dated and whether anyone could help with the ages of the sitters. The first two have the same reverse, the final one was different and taken at North Shields- I think the standing lady in the third one may be the same lady as the second. Many thanks in advance.

Have a lovely weekend,

Dan

Thank you, this means I can literally identify them all as it is the couple's wedding year and the others are the groom's 3 unmarried sisters and his brother. I am loving the huge skirts, presumably hooped crinoline.

Thank you for all the help, have a lovely week,

Dan

Hello, thank you so much for the insight, it is a puzzle for me who it can be but all these details can help me with that. I thought it looked reversed. It is a curious one, I was hopeful it was a copy from the early days of photography but 1860s would put it too late as people say.

Thanks for all the help and advice, have a lovely week,

Dan

Hi,

I have been given an old Victorian family album that appears to have been compiled in the 1880s. I am trying to find out more about some of the photographs in an attempt to identify some of the sitters and I would really appreciate some wiser heads than mine to have a look at these attached. They appear to be a set and are probably the Wood family. The one that doesn't show the photo edges was a scan sent to me by a family member, I include it because it appears to have been taken in the same studio, we have an id for this one as William Wood born 1807. I would love some dates for these and if anyone can spot anything of interest that might help me identify them. I have included the reverses of 4 of them but they appear the same to me. I am hoping for a date of 1865 and I think that might be borne out by the style of dresses on the girls. I think the man in the photo of the couple is the same as the photo I posted on here the other day and these photos were taken to commemorate his wedding in 1865, any wiser heads can help? If this pans out, I know who all of them are!

Thank you and have a lovely week,

Dan

Ah, well, that rather rules him out! Thank you, possibly his son then whom the album it came in belonged to.

Thanks,

Dan
