It is indeed a very lovely headstone, but not the headstone of "my" George and Janet.  They died in 1911 and 1912 and are buried in Sandford Victoria.   (There were many George Taits, which is why I have to be so careful about getting the right ones!)

Daisy, Thank you so much for looking for information and finding the marriage announcement!  It is the piece of the puzzle that gives me great confidence that this George Tait was the son of George Tait and Janet Munro.  You have saved me from spending money on ordering the marriage certificate.

I have use Trove to look for death information and I really should have thought to use it to look for a marriage announcement.

There are entries in SABDM - SAGenealogy for Ellen Charlotte passing 1925

George passes in SA in May 1945 given a birth date of 1862 which matches a Merino Vic birth to George and Janet nee Munro

Sincere thanks for taking the time for look for some clues. 

I had previously found that info but I was looking for the "smoking gun" that this George was the son of George and Janet Munro.  The marriage announcement below gives me the confidence to add them to my tree.

The marriage registration # is 2629/ 1889.
