Hi. I was casually researching Ethelred Howell and came across your post. My great great grandfather's diary mentions Ethelred Howell immigrates to Jamestown, VA in the mid to late 1600's. and recorded him from Wales and descendant of a Welsh King of which several royal houses descend from. Including the House of Tutor. No paper trail other than the oral history written down by my great great grandfather who lived from 1834 to 1909. But, you must wonder how multiple families can share the same story. My great great grandfather was Morton Boyte Howell, Born in Wayne County, NC on the Neuse River. His father was RBC Howell, grandfather was Ralph Howell. And his great grandfather was Henry Howell son of Ethelred, brother to Charles. Henry settles in South Quay, Virginia. now the Suffolk area. And eventually they all end up in Wayne, NC. I feel there are bread crumbs there to follow for us all. Shared stories are powerful.  ;D
