Hi All,
I have been researching my wife's family (Owen) and I think we know who this Maggie Jane Owen was. My wife used to visit her with her parents in the mid/late 60's. She lived with a companion on Buckley Terrace just by the bridge. My wife's father was always keen to go to see her when they were visiting the area. Margaret Jane was my wife's fathers aunt, born in Trawsfynydd, she never married.
She was the daughter of Owen and Ellin Owens. Owen died in 1910. Ellin lived until 1934 and Maggie Jane looked after her. They lived together in Trawsfynydd in a house called 'Preswylfa' At the time of the 1939 register she was still living in the same house. We have no record of her move to Beddgelert but my wife's father had no other 'Owen' aunts so I feel sure this must be her. Would be interesting to know who the other lady was? JamesT
