Hi,
I know it's been a while, but -
Jabez Peaceful was indeed a preacher/minister around Wokingham/Reading, at the turn of the (previous) century: he was minister of the Wesleyan Chapel, Wargrave Road, Twyford, until he died in 1904.
The building itself then became a "working men's club", and was then gifted to the men of Twyford who returned from the First World War.
They played snooker there, and it's still a snooker club now, the building itself little changed:
