I believe I may be able to help you shed light on the family tree. I recently received help in uncovering my family tree and many of the names in the comments are part of my tree.
As a Varey in Bolton, it seems certain we come from the same line of hawker Vareys.
I’m so intrigued by how the Varey name had such a monopoly on hawking in the north west and even more intrigued as to where the name comes from!
