Lanarkshire / Marriage Certificate
« on: Saturday 21 February 26 14:34 GMT (UK)  »
Hi,
Just wondering if anyone could help.
I'm looking at the marriage certificate of Charles Mcginty and Phoebe Langford or Andrews.
It says they married on the 21st of July 1911 but it wasn't registered until 11th December 1911.
In the column where the signatures of the minister and witnesses go it states "Extract Sentence of Conviction dated 6th or 8th December 1911 in the Sheriff Court of Lanarkshire at Hamilton"
Just wondering if anyone has any idea what this means.
Thanks

England / William Andrew(s)

Hi,
Just wondering if anyone could help. I'm researching William Andrew or Andrews.
He was born in 1871 in Port Glasgow, Scotland to William Andrews and Mary Hutchison. He married Phoebe Langford (registered as Febey Langford) in 1895, Dalziel, Scotland. I lose track of him in 1904 after he registered the birth of his daughter Janet. Phoebe later states that he deserted her. I cannot find him on the 1911 census in Scotland, I also cannot find a death certificate for him in Scotland and am just wondering if anyone could help.
Thanks

Hi, I’m looking at an electoral register for 1939-1940 in Motherwell and on it it says that there is people who were allowed to vote in parliamentary elections but not in town council elections and am wondering if anyone knows why this may be.

Thanks
