And actually, her father, Patrick, last name is also listed as McGinley, whilst hers was Ginnelly - but I've read it's not uncommon for minor changes to have been made to the sur names over time with each generation.

I'm glad you two were able to connect, hopefully since that's taken care of you won't mind me asking if you might have any info regarding Ginnelly's, my 2 x great grandmother was a Bridget Ginnelly who married John Michael Gannon, both from Westport, Co. Mayo. Her father is listed as Patrick Ginnelly.

They immigrated with my great grandfather, John Joseph Gannon (b. 1903) after he established residence some time after 1918.

Any help is appreciated :)

My 2 x great grandmother was Bridget (maiden name) Ginely/Ginnelly/McGinley depending on the document - she went by all at some point in time. She was born sometime around 1870-1880. Married my 2 x great grandfather John Michael Gannon and had my great grandfather John Joseph Gannon in 1903. They all immigrated to America after 1918, and appear to have been from Westport, Co. Mayo. I would be interested in linking her further back to her parents, grandparents, etc. if you have information that seems relevant.

I have recently tentatively linked this same Michael Gannon and Mary Walsh to my family tree - maybe we can help each other.

My great grandfather (GG1) John Joseph Gannon immigrated to America in 1918, coming from Westport, Mayo. His father was (GG2) John Michael Gannon, and his mother was Bridget Ginely (spelled a few different ways depending on the document), also from Westport, Mayo. (GG2) John's father was a Michael Gannon (GG3), and I am unclear on any other details, so I've explored options available through records on Familysearch.org, and found Michael Gannon a widow, married to Mary Walsh, who together had a son John (amongst others children), so I linked this same Michael Gannon as an ancestor. The birth years and marriage year make sense with my GG2 birth year of 1868. (They were married in 1864/65).

I believe my great grandfather (GG1) brought his parents John Michael Gannon and Bridget (Ginely, or Grinely, or Ginelly) here to America once he had a residence. I suppose I assumed his grandfather (GG3) Michael, and grandmother Mary Walsh, perished in Westport, Mayo.
