Retrospections, a book by Dorothea Herbert. A must read for any Blunden descendant.

Yes! I've been trying to get a copy for years, but have had no luck finding it in any of my local libraries.  I have seen it for sale online, but the price is a bit steep - I'll keep looking out though  :)

Hi Shelley,
Please PM if you get this. I am also a descendant of Anna Catherina Pretorius from one of her previous husbands.
Your help and info will be valuable.
thanks and Regards
Nick

Hi Nick,

I know my message comes years after yours, but there's always a chance you still monitor the site.

I am also decended from the Retief line - Piet's brother, Francois, was my 5x great-grandfather, and so his daughter, Anna Steenkamp is my 4x great-grandmother.

I am always interested in contacting relatives, no matter how close or distant, so if you are still active on here to see this, and researching this line, I would love to hear from you.

Hi Lee Blunden

In case you haven’t noticed, Noller hasn’t been on this website for the last three months.  Hopefully they will return again.

Kind regards

Hi LH,

Thank you for your message.  Noller has actually replied to me via a private message.

Incidentally, I am the LeeanneB who started this thread in 2011, and I haven't been active on the site since 2013.  I've long since forgotten all log-in details and so re-registered with LeeBlunden. So there's always a chance that someone will answer, even 11 years down the line  ;D

Yep, I have read about that in a book about the Blundens. Amazing how they could write somebody out of history. Something like that appears to have been done to my gggrrand mother Rose Blunden who again eloped at a young age around 1817.

Hi Noller, what is the name of the book? I'd love to read it.
