The first one, in the top left corner of the photo.

Ironically, while resizing this, I've had a theory, but I won't say anything.

I've been researching my family for quite a long time although I am quite new to this group . The one thing above all else that i would say about contacting people is make your contacts extremely polite, extremely friendly, and extremely interesting. if you don't hear after 2-3 months try again. If somebody was busy or going through some sort of life crisis, try again. My biggest problem is that i'm in contact with so many distant people that I find it very time consuming. It gets to the stage where I become friendly with people and get onto topics outside of family research, including things like personal holidays, work and family life. I even  had one second cousin who cut me off just because I didn't contact her often enough.

I am probably younger than most here but I can't understand why people seem so obsessed with getting as far back as possible. it is much more interesting contacting living relatives. Also it is generally accepted that one to two percent of births are not recorded correctly because the mother doesn't know the father. People seem so dubious about DNA, yet if you weren't at the conception and birth you can't really be sure without relying on DNA.

Gillg, 2 litres is 125ml or 5 oz once an hour assuming a 16 hour day. If you try and have a few mouthfuls every half hour, that might help.

Anyway, back to my tree.

I thought dna tests were not reliable for ethnicity, but this story suggests otherwise. Can anyone explain please.

It seems a good idea if information like this was put in a prominent place so that new people, like me would find it quite easily. I hope it's not inappropriate to make a suggestion like this.
