Hello there. Jennie from Australia here and Catherine Gunn and John Sutherland are my 5x GG parents. I am connected thru their son Isaac born 1808 in Watten and lived to a ripe old age passing in 1896 in Bruce’s Creek in Victoria Australia. He arrived near to the goldfields in 1854 having travelled with his wife and 4 of his children. It appears 4 older children remained at home in Scotland. They travelled on the ship Black Eagle which departed Liverpool on the 16th July 1854 arriving in Melbourne more than 3 months later on the 19th October 1854. Isaac was a Carpenter and was engaged to work with a Mr E Holmes in Bruce’s Creek which is now known as Bannockburn. It’s a small town about 90 mins from Melbourne and I assume was much larger during the gold rush. I have visited his grave in the local cemetery and it’s full of my relatives and other Scottish families who moved to the area. His wife Margaret Buchanan had passed three years before him. I’m sure l m related to several of you here Nice to meet you all
