Definately a cemetery and crematorium at Honor Oak, I was there New year.   I believe it is known as Camberwell New Cemetery.   Nunhead is a different cemetery. ;D

Looking through Victorian family photo albums, have come across pic called Nanny and Grandad Dymark/Dymank but cannot find any trace of them on any records.  I think that they lived in the Crystal Palace/Upper Norwood area of London.   If anyone comes across this name, please let me know :D :D.  Very grateful.  I believe that Nanny Dymark was still alive up to the 1940's but very old. :) :)

Excellent stuff - Thanks very much.  I'm going to look into this straight away.  I've only just started on this name and its proving very interesting.  That certainly makes sense about Sarah being Ediths mother, I dont know why I didn't think of it, but i'll digging further.

Thanks once again :) :) :)

I am researching COURTNEY family from Pancras area of London from 1851 onwards.   Anyone have any other info?  I have Charles, 2 daughters Edith and Sarah and I believe Sarahs children Phyllis, Winifred, Marie Letty and Helen Louise.

Thanks ;D

The Times shows her at the Palace, off and on, from 1896 (briefly, before she shows up as at the Duke of York) right up to 1905, after which she disappears from the Advertising listings.  Presumably they mean this place:

http://www.thisistheatre.com/londontheatre/palacetheatre.html

It doesn't say what was going on there, just that there were nightly shows and a Saturday Matinee (musical variety show, perhaps?)

Esme Beringer - http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0075206/ - was at the same venue in 1903.

In 1901 the headliner act is a George Grossmith, possibly the son of this one:

Incidentally, was a Kathleen Courtney any relation? She also turns up in the theatre advertisments...

Please can you tell me where you got the info regarding the Times?  I havn't come across Kathleen yet so I assume not she is no relation.

Thanks :)
