US Lookup Requests / Re: Drysdale settlers in Colonial America 1630-1700

You're very welcome! If you ever DID want that series (There are multiple volumes.) you could try InterLibrary Loan. There are many libraries in the UK that have them. That way you wouldn't need to purchase them. 😊

The Drysdales mentioned in that work immigrated in the 1810s-1820s. There was no one mentioned from the 1600s or 1700s.

Glad to help! 😊

A possible resource: Percy and Frances Farnsworth's divorce records from 1900 - 1901 likely would indicate whether Colvin was adopted or not. Those records are probably housed at the Sacramento County Superior Court, since the Farnsworths were living in Sacramento at the time.

UPDATE: FamilySearch does have Sacramento divorce records from that time in their IMAGES section (not Records.) Here's the link:

United States of America / Re: More marriage information than just Index?

New Jersey is not an open records state. From the New Jersey Department of Health: "New Jersey law protects and restricts the release of vital records. Vital records are not public records and cannot be searched online."

Do you know if the bride and groom had a religious affiliation? There might be church marriage records available online.

Oh, great! Did you see that there were two references to Joseph Goyette in the Fall River Herald News on February 7, 1933 - his obituary and his death notice? His obituary has his parents as Theophile Goyette and Celina Lafond Goyette.

"John D MacDonald" and "Marie J Mitchell (Desdouets)" were married in Boston in 1927, according to a Massachusetts marriage index. John's name is transcribed incorrectly as Colin D MacDonald (Colin is the middle name of the John MacDonald listed above him.) The source for their marriage info is given as Vol. 2, page 88.

FamilySearch.org DOES have Boston 1927 Marriage License records online here:
https://www.familysearch.org/records/images/beta/search-results?place=4229284&startDate=1927-01-01&endDate=1927-12-31&lifeEvent=102860&lifeEventRecordTypes=104727&page=1&pageSize=100

However, I don't see an INDEX. Presumably their license is here but you would need to go through 10,000 pages to find it!  ;D I'm just including this in case you find a reference to their certificate number elsewhere.

Have you tried FindaGrave.com? You can search there by surname and location, without any years. Also see this for general information: https://www.nrscotland.gov.uk/research/guides/statutory-registers/deaths
