Hi Anita,

Margaret Maud Filan (Married to James Beirne) was my gran.  Luke is also my gr grandfather.  I wasn’t aware of any connection outside Ireland so this is intriguing.  My gran and her parents were Roscommon.

Hi, Lillian Filan was my gran’s sister.  My gran was Margaret Maud, known mostly as Maud.  Lillian was the child who survived the childbirth, where her mum died.  The family spent 3 years in Ireland with the Filan family, before taking Lillian back to Australia with them.  I understand Winifred had lost two Children of her own, some
