Family History Beginners Board / Thomas Palmer Info Needed
« on: Saturday 18 May 24 04:08 BST (UK)  »
His name is normally listed as Thomas Palmer, but I believe his full name is John Thomas Palmer. He was in Jamestown VA and survived the 1622 massacre. He moved to Jordan's Journey and lived there I guess there rest of the time he was alive. He was there in 1624. He was married to Joan Jordan who'w father owned Jordan's Journey. He was prominent in the House of Burgesses and other levels of government.

His date of death is disputed but was most likely in the 1630s. I have a will probated in England but the names in the will just don't add up, plus he left nothing to his wife.  So, I don't think that was him.

I'm really looking for anything pertaining to his death and who his children were.  Apparently one is not disputed and her name was Pricilla.

Somebody knows something!  Please help. Many thanks

WOW!  You guys are great!  I really appreciate all the help and especially the transcription!  I can usually make my way through some of it, but this time I was getting nowhere.  SO THANK YOU!

Now that I have the transcription, it opens up a whole new set of problems. I am not sure that this Thomas Palmer is the same one who survived Jamestown Virginia and lived later at Jordan's Journey in Virginia.  The will makes no mention of his wife or any land and I think he owned land in Virginia.  So, on to more research!

Again, thank you so much.

I am brand-new to this forum so I hope this request is in order and in the proper place. I apologize if I am posting in the wrong forum.

I have a short document that I need to have transcribed.  I have worked and worked, but it is eluding me.  Anybody that can transcribe would be deeply appreciated.

Many Thanks.

Dan
