Hi Yorkyboyl, I'm related to the Shelbourne's of the Grantham area. My Grandmother was Daisy Shelbourne 1921-1993. Her father being Percy Alfred Shelbourne, Born in Denton 1897-1971. William was known as William Herbert Shelbourne born on 7 mar 1896 in Grantham. He was my 2nd cousin 3 x removed. He died on 14 Apr 1986 he lived at Beckside, Middle St, North Hykeham. His cremation took place on the 17 April 1986 which i have found on Deceased online. It just gives the location as Lincolnshire. Mary Jane Pulford was born on the 20th Nov 1863 at Barrow Lane, Grantham, i have she died on 26 Nov 1933 in Wakefield. Any other help i can give please get in touch. Are you related to them.

Nottinghamshire Lookup Requests / Joseph Clapton
« on: Wednesday 29 January 25 16:15 GMT (UK)  »
Hi, Could anyone help me to trace a birth index please. I'm trying to find my great granduncles birth register. I've tried GRO, FreeBmd, FindMyPast, Ancestry and i'm unable to find one anywhere.

His name was Joseph Clapton, born 1880/1881. In the 1881 census he is 6 months old and the family are living at Hooby Lodge Cottage, Stretton, Rutland. He is recorded on there as being born in Carlton, Nottinghamshire as was his older sister. I've found her Birth index as Basford, Nottinghamshire in 1878. The parents names were Charles Clapton 1852-1916 and Catherine Hodgkin 1855-1928. They had 4 other children before him. All Births after Joseph were registered in Grantham, Lincolnshire.

Joseph died on the 30 March 1883, there is an index for that as being registered in Grantham also.

Yes Annie this is the right one. I found the burial records for both last night. It was the proof I was looking for as there were no burial records for Loughborough for either of them. It stated they were both from Loughborough and buried a few days later in Basford. The other 2 names are 2 of their children. It's a shame there is no headstones for them but at least I've got the proof I've been looking for. Thanks again for your help and anyone that has replied x

My husbands 3 x great grandparents both died in Loughborough, James diggle died 1878 and his wife Maria died 1881, but both are supposedly buried in St. Leodagarius Churchyard, I've been to the Churchyard and have only found an headstone for Ann Diggle passing in the 1790s, she is related. So at present I'm trying to trace other Diggle names to see how many are actually related to my husband. I have seen some of the replys you put to me previous which are much appreciated and they are also related. I've senn from one of your previous reply that there are about 46 Diggle names buried there. My husbands family all come from Basford. James was born there so I presume he wanted to buried back home. Was there a family burial plot. Any help you can give me Annie would be much appreciated. Many thanks Sue.

I'm looking for all the Diggle names please that are buried, baptised or married at St. Leodagarius Churchyard, my husbands family is Diggle and I'm tracing his family tree. I know there is quite a few buried there but there is no headstones now apart from one, Ann Diggle, who is definitely related to him.  Any help would be appreciated.
