1851 Census

William Malcolm
Sarah M.1826
Isabella
Mary Jane
Bessy

(Mary Jane’s Named her Daughter’s Sarah & Bessy so we’ve got solid conformation here thankfully

Sarah (Mary Jane’s Mother) died in 1869 as we’ve seen on the clipping in Saul Street, Downpatrick

So ideally finding a death record for William Malcolm and Seeing if their’s exisiting records that can go back even further on what we’ve already found.

Their was a “Hannah Rees” as a second participant in getting married on the registration via FindMyPast, possibly a sibling? I know the children are bound to be named after the parent’s too.

Hello Everyone, i’ve hit a brick wall at the moment, and was wondering if anyone can help me out? I’m looking for the Parents of Annie Colcombe Nee Rees,

Her Partner was Thomas Colcombe, she was born in Old Tredegar (That’s what all the census’s provide her birthplace as) the 1911 census states she had married in 1895, following a search i found a thomas thomas colcombe marrying a Annie Rees in Merthyr Tydfil,

Together they had
Thomas Lewis b.1896
William Charles B.1896
Evan James B.1898
Edwin B.1901
Sidney B.1903
Annie May b.1905
Ada Maud b.1908
Idris B.1910
Edith M B.1918

Hopefully someone can put the pieces together, married they both resided in Pontypridd and Mountain ash? But because i’m trying to find Annie’s Lineage which links to tredegar, i’ve posted it here.

Monmouthshire / Complex Mystery, Possible Affair in Ponthir?

Hello Everyone, a while back i made a post for a search for the family of my 3x Great Grandmother Mary Ann Jones born 1837 in Llangattock Lingoed

She married John Herbert Jenkins in Llanfihangel Crucorney on Jul 24 1870 witnessed by Onesiphorius Jenkins and Eliza jones,

1871 John & Mary Ann were Lodging at the Bridge Inn in Pontnewydd, Cwmbran with Mary Ann’s Brother Thomas born 1859

However today a new ark of this puzzle has been found, on the orbituary for Kate Maria Taylor Nee Jenkins (Daughter of Mary Ann & John H Jenkins) it states she had Cousins “Eva And Tom” and “Herbert & Floss” attend her funeral, now this puzzled me, so i created a separate tree for the cousins to attempt a search

I found that “Eva” was Eveline Annie Morgan 1893-1959 married William Thomas Stephens in 1919, both resided in Ponthir, quick search of Eva’s Birth Reg gave Mmn “Jones” coincidentally the same surname as Mary Ann “Jones” giving me the impression that, Eva’s Parents Catherine & Thomas Morgan, Catherine mn Jones was possibly a sister to Mary Ann or her first cousin?

Following another search i found Thomas Herbert Morgan who married Florence May Thompson, being the others listed, it appears in 1901, Thomas Herbert is given as the Step-son of Thomas Morgan, and provided the surname Williams (later changed to Morgan) so using the 1939 england and wales register dob, i bought his birth reg, and turns out his mother is given as “Gertrude Williams” a Domestic Housemaid, who’s actually living with Catherine “Kate” and Tom Morgan in 1901 and working for them! Quick search of Gertrude E Williams shows she was born 1870 in Abergavenny, still this doesn’t really add up?

I’m super curious on how Catherine Jones and Her Daughter Eveline link into Eveline being Kate Maria Taylor’s cousin, and how Eliza jones witnessed the marriage of John and Mary Ann, and Thomas (Brother of Mary Ann) was lodging with them in 1871, hopefully someone can fix this puzzle up!!

Hello Everyone,

Looking for the family of Mary Jenkins born C.1828 in Trevethin, Monmouthshire,

She married Samuel Thomas on the 5 Nov 1849 in Aberystruth, Mon her father was given as Thomas Jenkins a “Haulier” Marriage Witnessed by Joseph Jenkins, and Thomas Jenkins,

On the other hand, Samuel Thomas was born in Bristol, father given as same name as a “Miner”

Samuel & Mary Had Ten Children which i’ve found successfully, but would be interesting to find out who Mary Jenkins Parents were, and her heritage,

kind Regards
Ashton
