London & Middlesex Completed Lookup Requests / Re: SHEPHERD of Hillingdon

Hi Mandy,
I have sent you a private text but thought I'd just fill you in with your John Shepherd. I've found his parents, John Shepherd and Eliza Ratcliffe and his siblings are Mary, George, Sarah and Joseph.
If you contact me on the email address I sent you in the private message I can tell you more.

Yes, I was getting mixed up with another emma from another family.
I've taken it as being 1813.
On her marriage cert she just says of age.
I've searched the IGI for her bapt without any success and am now pinning my hopes on a site I found the other day. It's the Ceech St Michael website and they're gradually transcribing the PRs and, so, hoipefully some of mine will pop up soon.

Glad that we could be of some help.

On the 1851 census Emma Linton (living with George and Ann Bridger) is shown as being from Taunton.

Another thing that I noticed, incidentally, is that on the 1861 census Ann Bridger (who I have assumed was Morgan Ann Linton) gives her age as 38 which would indicate a birth year of 1823. She also gives her age as 38 in 1851 which would indicate the 1813 birth year.

How old does it say she is in 1842 on her marriage certificate ?

Yes, I noticed that too.
Another strange thing is that, on the 1851 census, when she's living with Morgan Ann in London, she gives her birth place as Weymouth, Dorset.

Roy

There is quite a large gap between Morgan and Emma.

Have you considered that William may have married twice?

Just the reference will do, thanks.

Roy

Hello again

Unfortunately I have not found the marriage of William and Mary but I have found later census entries for most of the children if you want them.

If you have access to the censuses I can just provide the reference details or if you don't have access I can type out the full entries for you (if you give me enough time to do it ;D).

Any info would be greatfully received, thank you. Especially if you've found William and Mary's marriage.

Somerset / LINTON family

My 2 X great Grandmother was Morgan Ann Linton. Born abt 1813 Taunton.
Her father was William Linton who I have found on the census living in Creech St Michael and who wife's name is Mary.
Their children are:
Emma born abt 1826 - found her on the 51 census living with Morgan Ann and family
Henry abt 1826
Arthur abt 1828
Julia abt 1833
Charles 1835
William himself was born about 1785 in Thornfalcon Somerset and Mary abt 1791 in Creech St MIchael.
Anyone else researching this family?

Pallot's index has the marriage of Grace Heath and Thomas Richardson at St George Bloomsbury in 1823.
Could someone please transcribe the entry from the register.
