I thought of that, but haven't found a burial record for him either! Though his death record from SP says he was buried at the New Dalkeith churchyard...

Hi all, I'm looking for help locating the burial location of Janet Duncan (nee Davidson) who died in 1875 in Echo Bank, Liberton, Midlothian. She was born in Cranston in about 1800 and I've found the death record on Scotlands People indicating the death location and date, but I can't find any burial information (Find a Grave, Billion Graves, cemetery registers on Ancestry, etc.). Does anyone have any tips or know anything about this family? Her spouse was George Duncan who dies in 1856 and was buried in Dalkeith.

Thanks in advance!

I have Jane Eliza Gordon listed as William Reid's mother, but I suspect this isn't correct as I can't find any information on her... I'm building on information that was collected by my grandfather and he didn't have many of his sources recorded, so I'm not sure where the Jane Eliza Gordon name came from...  On William's death certificate (if it is in fact the correct one), his mother is listed as Janet Reid maiden name Gordon, but I have yet to confirm the death record is in fact for the correct William Reid given that was a common name at the time...

Hello! I realize this may be a long shot given the time that's passed since the last post in this thread, but I also come from the William Reid/Jean Robertson line.

William Reid ABT 1780-?
Thomas Reid ABT 1803-BFR 1860
William Reid ABT 1828-1860
Thomas Reid 1854-1907
Bertram McMillan Reid 1887-1978
Morley Douglas Reid 1928-Living!

I've hit a roadblock when it comes to William Reid, born ABT 1828. I have records from my grandfather that suggest he married a Jane or Jean Gordon, but I can't find any records of that at all. I also cannot find any birth records or information on William other than an old email between my grandfather and an archivist in Lanarkshire that suggested he was born in Ireland? I suspect he and his siblings were actually born in Rutherglen but I haven't been able to prove this... any help is appreciated!!!

As per the original question about Balochnie, I just saw this map that has a "Balochney" in the New Monkland area, seems like it might be the same place as it's adjacent to at least two "Drumgray" locations (which is what I was searching as well when I came upon this).
