A photo would help wouldnt it!

Hello,

I am trying to understand this ancestor a little more. In particular trying to understand his military career and establish if he had a wife. I am hopeful someone on here may know more about military uniform and military records for Italy.

The photo below is of Carlo Fasolato. Father is Antionio Fasolato. He has two siblings - Luigi and Cesare. His sibling Cesare was born in 1845 so I can assume he was also born in the 1800s. But that is as much info as I have.

Does anyone have access to or know how I could best obtain his attestation papers etc?

If anyone has any knowledge on his uniform that would be so greatly appreciated?

I have only ever researched my Irish ancestors and that information seems so much easier to find. I am a bit stuck with the Italian side.

Many thanks

Thank you! Thats really helpful. I have a name, parents and siblings for this ancestor so maybe with that information along with your suggestions I might be able to figure him out a bit more.
I will repost this in the armed forces too! :)

Hello,

Hoping someone knowledgeable may be able to help me out. I am looking to identify the date of this photograph and also ID the type of uniform this is.
My ancestor is from North Italy - not sure if that helps at all.

Many thanks in advance.

Thank you!

Im maybe being really stupid but from what website are you finding the 1921 census for Long Crendon?

Im trying both ancestory.com and also findmypast and neither are returning Tugwood in 1921.

Thanks Sc00p,

Where did you come across that info? From the 1921 census? My grandfather was born in Ireland and boarded from 1926- 1936. But the death of Eliza could be a coincidence or explain why her returned to a home that year!

Thanks Tazzie,

That is a good suggestion! I'll give it a try.

I assume my Grandfather would have attended school whilst at Long Crendon. Is there a record of school registers ? I’ve browsed ansestory.com but can’t see such a thing.

I suspect you’re right. I think that Lucette and Hobday and more likely the friendship. Perhaps writing to my grandfather to offer some advice or friendship since he had just left the care of Barnardos.

I think I was barking up the wrong tree there. Had hoped it might lead me to understand more about his time in Long Crendon.
