Then your tree of the Dalling family tree is outside the parameter where I have drawn the limit.
It was the unusual name of Thirsa (Thursa) that threw us.
They are probably all related, all being likely related somewhere through George and Agnes Dalling
Good Hunting

Sorry, I do not have familysearch.
Who are Walter and Agnes, she cannot be the grandmother Agnes who died in 1857.
Ancestry gives Thusa parents as George and Mary Dalling, deceased by the 1850's?
They are probably relatives, but what relationship?
In your previous posting they went from Barnstaple to Bristol in 6 days, trains cost in 1871.

This side of the Dalling family is only distantly related to my family, so is on the fringe of my tree.
So I am not sure who Walter Dalling is or where he fits.
I suspect Thursa and Luana are sisters and by 1871 their parents are deceased, hence living with Walter,
Saying they are his daughters and he is widowed to the census saves a lot of questions from the authorities.
Also, in 1871 Thursa is about 26 years, not 19 as given.

This mother is listed as Thursa Dalling is therefor unmarried and Frederick Walter James Dalling was a bastard. Thursa is born to George (B1803) and Mary (B1796/1800) Dalling about 1846.
Thursa is the grand-daughter of George Dalling and Agnes Gould

Northumberland / Re: James Hastie Unthank

Hello All
Try this
William Paxton Unthank (Grandfather B1854 - D1916) had numerous children
One son, William Unthank (B1888 - D1970) married Anne Davidson in 1910, they had a son named William Paxton Unthank in 1911, but he died shortly after birth.
Another son James Unthank (B1892 - D?) married Mary Hastie in 1910, had 3 sons and a daughter. Eldest son named William Paxton Unthank (again) B1911 - D2002
Hence I believe the newspaper article has the sons attributed to the wrong brother.

Hello
The Agnes Dalling death 1857 that you chase was born Agnes Gould in 1776 and married George Dalling (B1776 - D1848) in 1798 in Barnstaple. I regret right family, wrong branch.

To all regarding Caroline Fuller
Please assume all information given by Caroline Fuller to any authority as convenient, not necessarily accurate.
In her lifetime she called herself a widow twice over, but almost certainly never married.
In 1886 when living in Cadiz Road, Tower Hamlets she was called to the Old Bailey as a witness to an arson and attempted murder, but gave false information as to her personal circumstances.
You cannot trust the names given by her children as to their fathers on documents because you cannot find 2nd sources for verification of that person.
So, I was originally asking if 'out there' a descendant of either of her partners had information as to who these persons were?

Dear Trish
2nd Note
Mary Mitchell's marriage to Jame Sinfield might have been her 2nd marriage.
There is an undated reference to a parish register entry of a Edward Mitchel marrying a Mary Harris.
James born 1770, Mary born 1790(?) 20 years difference?

This reference could be either her parents marriage or her first marriage. Just a one line notation

Dear Trish
It is a long time past since I reviewed this side of my family.
I can from my records give you James Sinfield's 1st wife
She was
Susanna Morris
Born 31/01/1772 in Leighton
Died 29/01/1811 in Lidlington

I seem to remember at during my research that James's 2nd partnership might have been convenient but not churched.
You cannot assume that information given to census takers is accurate.
The census taker was paid by task, not truth, and they were treated with suspicion as they were one step from being the tax man
