Westmeath / George Hall m. Elizabeth Forster at Athlone in 1780s
« on: Friday 16 June 06 06:45 BST (UK)  »
I would like to trace descendents or find further information on the following family:
George Hall, a landowner of Athlone, born circa 1730, died 25 December, 1821.  George married Elizabeth, daughter of Colonel Forster.  Their children were:
1. Catherine Hall, born 1783, died 1874. Unmarried.
2. Elizabeth Hall, born 1789, married a Colonel Maunsell.
3.  Forster Hall, married and moved to NSW, Australia and raised a family.
4.  Alice Hall, died 16 August, 1833, married Colonel Stace of the Royal Engineers, died and buried on the island of St Helena.
5.  Thomas Hall, born 1779. He was a Major in the 67th Hertfordshire Regiment.  Thomas sailed for India with the Regiment in 1805. He married a daughter of Surgeon Penfold?  WHO WAS SURGEON PENFOLD.  I WOULD LOVE TO KNOW HIS DAUGHTER'S NAME.
Any help would be much appreicated.

Northamptonshire Lookup Requests / Burial of Ambrose TRUE of Peterborough
« on: Friday 16 June 06 06:33 BST (UK)  »
I am looking for a burial at Peterborough, Northamptonshire for an AMBROSE TRUE, sometime after 1746.  Ambrose was possibly born about 1720.  Also a burial for Ambrose’s wife, Sarah nee Claypole.  Would there be any entries for Peterborough in the National Burial Index?  Also burials for any Trues or Claypoles at all at Peterborough?

I would like any information on the surname CLAYPOLE in Peterborough, Northamptonshire. I would like to make contact with anyone researching this surname in Northamptonshire, Lincolnshire, or anywhere in England.  I have a Sarah Claypole who married Ambrose True at St John the Baptist Church at Peterborough in 1746.  Who was she?  Are there any CLAYPOLES in the 1841 census for Peterborough?  Also are there any TRUES at Peterborough in this census?
I would appreciate any help at all, thank you in advance.

Lincolnshire Lookup Requests / ANDREW Family of Market Deeping
« on: Friday 16 June 06 06:27 BST (UK)  »
I am looking for the following family, both parents and children, in the 1841 to 1871 censuses for Market Deeping, Lincolnshire.  I would like details of ANY Andrew family at Market Deeping from these censuses.
From the IGI - The children of Marshall and Louisa Andrew, all born Market Deeping:
Francis Andrew, baptised 3 July, 1808
John Andrew, baptised 4 July, 1809
David Vasey Andrew, baptised 17 June, 1810
Marshall Andrew, baptised 19 November, 1917
William Andrew, baptised 21 February, 1822

In the 1881 census for Market Deeping I have found a Marshall Andrew, aged 64 years, living at Church Street, Market Deeping with his wife Elizabeth and grandson, William Andrew, aged 3 years.  Marshall was a Sexton (church officer) in 1881. So he could be Marshall, baptised 1817.  I also found another Marshall Andrew, born Market Deeping, aged 34 years, living Sudbury, Suffolk in 1881.  He could be the son of the church sexton?

The member of the family I am most interested in is John Andrew, baptised 4 July, 1809.  I am quite certain that this is the same John Andrew, who fathered an illegitimate son (William Perkins) baptised at Market Deeping in 1833.  William Perkin’s mother Mary Perkins (nee True) a widow, was a sister to my great-grandfather.   So I am trying to find out all I can on John Andrews, and his parents and siblings.  When did John die? What was he doing in 1841,1851, 1861 and 1871?
(he does not appear to be in the 1881 census). Any help would be greatly appreciated.
