It's actually 4 bankside but that still exists too ☺️ I have found estate agents photos of it for sale. I'd go for a viewing of walls could talk 😉🤣

Thanks for your reply.
Yes her maiden name was Mars born 12.02.1910. They technically never married but she was using the name Murphy from circa 1935 right up until her death in 1974 even though she and her 'husband' were separated sometime between mid 1939 and mid 1940. There are some name variations too, I have seen her documented as Ann and Anita but in the main she used Annie.

Family History Beginners Board / Help confirming address
« on: Monday 11 September 23 12:46 BST (UK)  »
Hi all.
Anyone have any advice on trying to confirm someones address in 1940? I have an address of 4 bankside cottages, concrete Milltown, Dublin for Ann/Annie Murphy. All other records for this lady before and after are in London where she was from. Her spouse was from this area of Dublin however, but he was in London in 1940.
She had 3 children that I suspect ended up in someone else's care as it seems she had issues with alcoholism and homelessness. I really want to locate the children and the address may help to narrow down the search to Dublin or London?
Annie Murphy died in 1974 in St.Marylebone in London, probably buried by the council would also love any pointers on a burial record/location?

You have an address for the child born in 1939 so could look on the 1939 register for mum there.

Just wanted to say thanks for this info. 1910 unlocked a lot of information, that I would never have uncovered

Anyone have any info on how to find records from Portobello Barracks circa 1928. My grandfather married a Helena Theresa Nicoloff whose address was Portobello bks on marriage cert. Possibly French? Father Theodore Nicoloff (occupation Gardener) could he have been there with his family? Thanks

The 1939 National Register includes name changes - where these were known.

Yes but not on a closed record, I would need to find that information elsewhere to try to find a death record to apply to have the record visible  :)

I'm having a similar issue. Two aunts who I think were evacuated to Somerset with their mother. Her name (very common) is on the register with 2 black lines beneath it. Could be them but as they likely married and changed name finding any death record would be near impossible and they may still be alive?
