Australia / TURNER, MILLER, Ipswich to Australia
« on: Saturday 05 September 09 01:14 BST (UK)  »
Hi All,
I am at a brick wall with this family.  Beatrice S A Miller is my Great grandmother's sister.

1-Joseph Turner b. 1867, Ipswich, Suffolk, England
+Beatrice Sarah Ann Miller b. Dec 1866, Ipswich, Suffolk, England
|----------2-Joseph F Turner b. 1896, Sydney, Australia
|           +LOUISA S HOOPER
|           +MARY E CRITCHLEY
|----------2-Beatrice L Turner b. 1901, Redfern District, Australia
            +Walter Seymour b. 1 Jan 1891
----------------------------

In 1918 Beatrice S A Miller is back in Ipswich and marries Charles Stephen Payne, her sister's husband's brother.  Confusing right?
Neither of her children (Joseph or Beatrice L.) are with her.

If anyone has research advice for Australia or information on what happened to Joseph Turner or his children it would be appreciated.

Thank You,
Sam

Hi All,
Could someone possibly help me date a picture?  I believe this to be Mary Ann Osborne Clamp Born 1840 - Died 1899.  I am particularly impressed by the detail of her dress.
Thank You

Lancashire Lookup Requests / Re: 1841 census Davis/Davies
« on: Monday 31 December 07 10:21 GMT (UK)  »
Hi,
Took a look for a birth record and this is the only one that came up for 1839.
 Sep 1839
Davis    Mary Elizabeth    St. Austell

The district St. Austell is an alternative name for St Austell and it is in the county of Cornwall

I went back and tried to find the family in a census, still no luck.

This is all I was able to find.  Do you have any other information such as birth year for John or Charlotte?  Davis/Davies is a common name.

Norfolk / John Clamp, Fersfield, Norfolk
« on: Sunday 30 December 07 02:24 GMT (UK)  »
Looking for any information or suggestions on locating further information on
John Clamp  was born on 13th February 1791 in Fersfield, Norfolk.
He may be the son of Thomas Clamp born 1771 Fersfield, but I am unable to confirm this.
**1871 Census lists John clamps birth place as  >>>Palgrave, Suffolk, England<<<<
**1861 Census lists John clamps birth place as  >>>Fersfield, Norfolk, England<<<<<<<<

John  married Hannah Rice on 12th May, 1812 at Old Newton, Suffolk.

Any advice or direction on where to find records for 1791 would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Sammy :-\

Prue,
Thank you for pointing me in the right direction.
The Missouri State Archives, one of the links you suggested, has detailed instructions on flattening the Baptismal Certificate!   ;D

Thank You,
Sam
