I do recall my dad talking about his great grandfather as being a "summer walker" before he came to Canada.
As soon as I saw summer walker I knew then that you are kin! Hello cousin from Yellowknife, NWT, Canada, land of the Auroras.

Caithness / John A Norris Caithness family census

Can't locate John A Norris on the census. He was born in 1827 to John and Catherine Norris (Sutherland)in Caithness. His family were of the Summer Walkers. He never learned to read and write but was one of the wealthiest men in Edmonton, Alberta. In 1854 he married Metis/Cree Marie Kayattowe in Fort Pitt, Saskatchewan. Anyway, I am trying to find out about his siblings and all that as I know about his life in Canada. He had a sister that move to the US. I think her name was Katherine but not positive.
