Hi,
My name's Alisa. I'm Australian. My mum's parents, however, came from Port Glasgow. I'm trying to find out a little more about them, but really have no idea where to start. Can anyone offer suggestions?
Also, I believe that my great-grandfather worked for the Clyde River Shipping Company, though I can find no evidence that a company of that name exsited. How can I check that out? The story goes that he was iced-in in Russia during the revolution, and kept a diary, which the Company bought from him on his return. I would love to find out what happened to that diary.
