hey all

so I've received her birth cert today, all information on her is correct apart from the fathers first name, so i can only assume it was either a typo or that's what he went by.


I've just ordered the Death cert as well so hopefully that'll turn up too.


next battle is finding the 10 children that died

Unable to post details of 1911 as against copyright rules on Rootschat. Other census years there also. 1921 same copyright rules.

Please don't apologies, this in invaluable information, ive been trying to call the registry office in Anglesey for the past week and not managed to get through, ive just ordered a birth certificate now, hopefully it'll match the information i've found with all your help. as soon as it comes ill update the thread.

When and where did they marry?

Do you have the marriage certificate?  If not, obtaining this would confirm her father's name and occupation, witnesses maybe family members

thank you for the reply, i have checked the 1911 census but couldn't find anything based upon the information i have.

unfortunately i am not 100% certain on the information, but it did come from her children, William john was my father and his sisters did all say the same thing, she was the only daughter and had a large number of brothers.

can I ask where you searched?

Hi All

just found this forum and hoping it will provide some information on what im looking for.

I'm looking for my Granmother, her name was Margaret Ellen Williams (Maggie) she was born 28th April 1905 and died 7th Feb 1984, she was married to a man called Owen John Roberts and had three children between them called William John Roberts, Dilys Roberts and Alwena Roberts.


the family stories mentioned she had a very large family and was commonly known as Maggie 20, as she was the 17th child and the only daughter in a family of 20.

the father i was told was a farmer in the Menai bridge area, but this is the only information i have or can find I'm hoping someone on here can shed a little light on the subject as i find it hard to believe coming from allegedly a very large family that there is no information on them, i am currently on ancestry and my heritage, and am looking through the various documents but there is very info, i have found her on the 1939 census but this places her after she was married and had all three children .

Hoping someone can help
