That's an excellent thought - thank you both. I'm going to look into it.

I really appreciate all the replys - Having a tough time with this one. The speaker was born 1878 in Blaydon/Winlaton, Durham and died 1970. The recording took place most likely between 1968-1970. The speaker lived in Durham and Newcastle throughout her life but of course, I'm trying to learn about the speaker's parents.

In the full audio, you can hear her daughter talking at the same time as her. Take this with a grain of salt as the audio is extremely difficult to hear but it seems she is describing that the speaker's mom was born near Blaydon, and that the father must have left "the word we're having a hard time deciphering" and come over to Durham and then married her.

Hi there. Would appreciate some help on this! Can someone help me figure out what my great great grandmother is saying on tape? She's talking about where her parents were from and so far as I can gather, I know what she's saying except for the last word/location. I'm not sure if the location is in Scotland or England but I think it's one of the two.

"My mother was born just about Blaydon. My mother was born at Blaydon. They have people all over Blaydon and _________."

Link to hear soundbite below. Thank you!
