I am looking for more info on the family of Josias Goldsmith who married Hannah Everest in penhurst, Kent. Would be interesting to know if they were related to this family.
Sophia Goldsmith married an Edward Whiteman, who was in the Hellingley union workhouse also.
one of her sister's Hannah Goldsmith married Jesse Roberts.

Hello everyone,

I am searching for a Nicholas Jacob Ludis Mayers, He died in Totnes Devon in 1938, he was a Jewish immigrant. I cannot find any other record of him anywhere in the UK. Just his death register, and his name on his daughter's marriage certificate.
All I know that he was a confectioner.

He had a daughter called Elaine Alice Mayers (or Alice Elaine Mayers) Elaine Alice worked in Plymouth and married in 1940.

I have been searching through countless records, reading through sweet shop history, searched all census, passenger lists etc and I cannot seem to find anything :(

There's also some letters next to his name on the marriage certificate that I can't work out. I'll post a photo with the post.

Any help would be much appreciated.
Kind regards

Cambridgeshire Lookup Requests / Re: James Webb Cambridgeshire

Which Webb child is your direct descendant - name - birthyear - birthplace?

Which census do you you have them on & who are the parents?

Hi Carole, I am decendant of David Webb born in hunslet Leeds, he is on the census with brother and mother Ellen and father James.

I was just a bit confused because of the two James that exist. But it seems that the one married an Ellen Matthews is the correct James!

Thanks all for the help in solving this :)

The full details of the marriage are:-

16th November 1878 at Hunslet Moor, St Peter

James Webb, 33, Bachelor, Labourer, of Silsbury Street, Hunslet, (as 1881 census), son of James Webb, Labourer

Ellen Matthews, 27, Spinster, of Silsbury Street, Hunsley, daughter of Robert Matthews, Labourer

Both made marks

Witnesses: Look like William Gray and the mark of Mary Ann Bird

One tree has son, David (1882-1924), marrying Ethel Tatham (1886-1953) Q3 1910 in Royston.

Yes David Webb is the correct ancestor of mine, born in Yorkshire and he married Ethel tatham.

My dilemma was which James Webb was his father. Because there are two both born on the same year in the same village.

Thank you!
