Technical Help / Re: Skype
« on: Tuesday 01 May 12 17:38 BST (UK)  »
Have just called my daughter "Darn Sarf" and the video call worked.   I should have selected "Cyberlink Video Splitter" in the first place.

Thank you everyone for your input.

Barrie.

The drop down box gives me two choices  "webcam 101" which is the camera on my laptop, and "cyberlink splitter"

Which ever one I select, I can see an image of myself.    I have had the first one selected, should I perhaps be using the second?

In the skype application, have you checked the video settings? You will find them under tools>options

Yes, have checked them.   When I go into video settings I see my ugly mug looking back at me, didn't realise I was looking me age so much.

Technical Help / Skype
« on: Tuesday 01 May 12 13:47 BST (UK)  »
My laptop has an inbuilt video camera, both Skype and my laptop tell me that my video camera is working correctly, but when I call my daughter although I can see her, she cannot see me.

Also when I try to alter things on Skype, I keep getting a pop-up box saying "invalid port"

Any help please?

I realise that I am replying to an old posting.   Sarah Browning (Oldfield) was my Gt Grandmother.
