Ciderdrinker,

I missed that.  Wow!  Thanks I'll check it out.

Shellyesq,

Thanks for your suggestions.  I've also been wondering if Sarah is a totally different person.  I'll check into the sources you've recommended as the 'story' I've been thinking just doesn't fit.

2ggmother is Nettie E Carter b. 1853 in VA.  Married Abner H Vickery 1873 in MO.  She is found in 1880 Census in Union, White Co., AR.  Listed as a widow, but has another child with Abner.  In this census she is with Sarah McClure (married name: Corder) who I took to be her mother.  Sarah goes back to her family in Tennessee and Nettie goes on to CA.  Having searched all possible names and states have not been able to find Nettie before 1873 marriage.  In FamilySearch she is 9QRL-DW3.
Have I totally mixed up her family?  She is not in any of the Corder census records.  Suggestions where I can go to find her immediate family.

Maddys52, thanks very much for checking!  Where did you find the information on the burials?  Perhaps I can follow up on anything on that page.  Fingers crossed!

London & Middlesex Lookup Requests / What happened to Hughes Workhouse???

In searching for my GG...Gmother Pamelia Richardson I find she gave birth to Mary Margart Richardson who was Baptised at St. Leonard's in Shoreditch on 24 Aug 1773.  It states that she was 'of Hughes Workhouse.'  My guess is that Mary Margart was born there.
However, I've not been able to find any info on this workhouse.  It was recommended I try the London Metropolitan Archives.  Also that it was likely turned into a hospital, perhaps, St. Leonard's Hospital. I obviously didn't find the right places to search in the Archives or even where to ask for guidance.

Can anyone help with finding records from here or any of Pamelia Richardson?  I found marriages for a Pamela Richardson, but it is in the 1830's so not sure.

Thanks!  Good plan to broaden the search.  There did seem to be about a zillion Ann Welbourns and that will help (if not confuse more) to straighten things out.

In looking for sources I do not find any that aren't mentioned.  Some sites have definite dates for death but no sources besides burial date.

Richard would have been 26 and no consent needed either.  So would the consensus be it most likely be Ann 1796?  The more I go back and forth the more confused I become.  :)
