Annie Harris again.

This time I'm trying to read the address her and George Richard were living at at the time of their marriage. I am hoping it'll give me some clues somehow.

This time I've managed to decipher a part of it by myself!
I have concluded that they were living on a street  ;D

I've come across a few people in my tree with a blank "Father" section of their birth certificate and I was wondering if any of you had had a similar situation and had some success in finding the father?

If so, would you be able to share your steps to success or any resources that might possibly help a person find unknown fathers?

Handwriting Deciphering & Recognition / Re: census occupations

I need to get back on findmypast! Ancestry don't do transcriptions for occupations (or I haven't figured out how to view them yet).

Many thanks :D

I did a quick google, apparently oil and colourmen sold paints, varnishes and the like.

I am really sorry to keep asking for handwriting translations.

This one is the 1850 census; https://www.ancestry.co.uk/sharing/1190924?mark=67c3abc9d0a90def363769675603fc53607340b6e217e643366fec599547a4db
Looking at the occupation field for occupants of the Steam Packet Hotel.

So far I've managed to figure a few out:
- Licensed Victualler - pub
- ?
- Barmaid
- Cook / ?
- ?
- Barmaid

I was looking at visiting this one https://discovery.nationalarchives.gov.uk/details/a/A13532041

I have had a look at the records and have a few in mind but I'm worried I'll do something wrong
